Quiz Heads 2013, Inter Schools ICT Quiz Competition organized by the Computer Society of Nalanda College, Colombo, Sri Lanka has successfully finished on 11th October, 2013. Final round of the Quiz Heads will be held at the Computer Day of Nalanda College on 17th of October, 2013.
Nalanda College Commerce Society won the Championship of Primero Awards 2013 organized by Ananda College Commerce Society, by defeating leading schools in Sri Lanka.
Silver Flames Twenty 13 organized by the 32nd Colombo Scout Group, Nalanda College will be held on 26th of October, 2013. All are invited to make this event a success.
Gharjana 2013, the debating day of Nalanda College organized by the Sinhala Oratory and Debating Society of Nalanda College will be held on 24th of October, 2013 at School Premises from 2PM onward.
Nalanda College Life Saving Squad once again proved to be the best life saving team in Sri Lanka by winning the overall championship of the Inter club Life Saving Competition 2013 along with 5 new national records!!!
Furthermore they were able to secure the 3rd place in 26th Intermediate life saving competition.

The All Island Under 15 Boys and Girls Hockey Championships 2013 concluded at Astro turf in Matale produced two joint champions, Nalanda College, Colombo and Vijaya College, Matale in the boys’ segment and Seethadevi Kandy and Sirimavo Bandaranayaka Vidyalaya, Colombo in the girls championship.
The adverse weather conditions-heavy rain with gusts of wind-which lasted over three hours in the afternoon forced the organizing committee to abandon the two finals (boys and girls) and declare the finalists as joint champions.
Nalanda and Vijaya made their way in to the boy’s final with wins over Sri Sumangala College Kandy and St. Aloysius College Galle in the respective semifinals. Nalanda beat Sri Sumangala 7-6 on penalties while Vijaya outplayed St Aloysius Galle by 1-0 with Sachith Weerasingha netting the winning goal.
Sri Sumangala Kandy won the boys 3rd place as they beat St Aloysius 3-2 on penalties after the scores read two all at full time in the consolation final.
Girls’ championship - Seethadevi Kandy and Sirimavo Bandaranayaka Vidyalaya, Colombo qualified for the finals with wins over St Joseph Balika Kegalle and Janadhipathi Balika Nawala with penalty shoot outs. Seethadevi beat St. Joseph Balika 4-1 on penalties after the game ended scoreless at full time while Sirimavo Bandaranayaka Vidyalaya beat Janadhipathi Balika 2-1 on penalties after the score read one all at full time.
In the decider for the 3rd place Janadhipathi Balika outplayed St Joseph Balika 2-0.

Future Minds started with humble beginnings in 2006 with the Motto of “No one left behind”. Roughly 75 Educational Institutes took part in 2006 and the Future Minds Secretariat has steadily increased this number in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and the quality of participating Institutes. This time Future Minds 2013 will be held in Colombo, Kandy and Galle. Students who are in these areas are getting the opportunity to participate in the most dynamic Carrier guidance exhibition in the country.
