History The Adventurers club of Nalanda College was founded under the principal Mr. D. G Sumanasekara in 1994.
The teacher in charge of the club is Mr. K. K. Ariyarathna and the teacher in charge of the group is Mr. Asanga Thilakaratne. The pioneer members of the Adventurers club are | President | C. S. Govinna | | Assistant Organizer | Mangala Gunarathne | The first Himalayan expedition of Nalanda College at "Annapoorna Mountan" in 1996 between 14th of February and 9th of March. They are the first group of Sri Lankan students engaged in such an exploration. Inter School Mountaineering and Explomenting Competition For the first time in Sri Lanka a inter school mountaineering and explomenting competition was organized by the adventurers club of Nalanda College with the advice of Sri Lanka School Mountaineering And Explorers Association.
26th of April in 1007 at Hortan Plains and the "Thotapola Mountain".
Since that Sri Lanka mountaineers and explorers association had organized this competition each year yet 1999. The second Himalayan Expedition of the club Held on 1997 at "Gokyo Mountian" in Nepal. - A group of our members came 1st in the school mountaineering held in 1997 for the 1st time in Sri Lanka and was Awarded National Colours.
- span style="font-size: 9pt; font-family: Tahoma">In 1998 two of our representative were sent to participate in the exploration tour, organized by Sri Lankan mountaineering and explorers association.
