The Exceptional Performance by a Young Professional at the 5^th Annual SLF Awards Ceremony was awarded to Susantha Sisilchandra.  The award was presented by Upul Dharmadasa, CEO of Upul Travel Service in the USA. The gala Award Ceremony was held at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, California under the patronage of Hon. Jaliya Wickramsuriya, Sri Lankan Consul General in Los Angeles. 

Susantha, a 33 year old Sri Lankan Entrepreneur based in Dallas, Texas, USA is the CEO/President of Ceyhinz Link International, Inc.  He formed and established his US based company with 100% Sri Lankan made products generating millions of dollars annually.  Susantha is a proud product of Nalanda College in Colombo, Sri Lanka with a career in IT Professional who graduated from the University of Hawaii Pacific in Hawaii and Massey University in New Zealand. He was the Head Prefect of Nalanda College in 93/94.

Dr. Janaka Ruwanpura, Director and Associate Professor of Project Management at the Schulich School of Engineering is awarded a “Canada Research Chair (CRC) – Tier 2” in Project Management Systems. This Canada Research Chair is the first under “Civil Engineering” discipline at the University of Calgary (2nd in Alberta and 15th in Canada – from CRC website database). This unique chair is focusing on Engineering and Construction related Project Management. Canada Foundation of Innovation (CFI) has supported Dr. Ruwanpura’s Canada Research Chair by awarding him an additional grant to build a project management laboratory and a construction monitoring centre to be in-housed at the Schulch School of Engineering. The CRC grant is $500,000 over 5 years and CFI grant is $ 195,101 (proposed lab is equivalent to $487,750 with industry and in-kind support).
